Is it true that people/parents wont be able to sell use kids clothes?
I heard a rumor and looked it up that parents and retail store will not be able to resell kids clothes unless they are first tested (for something, I don’t remember). I really hope its not true because I know a lot of people are able to dress their kids ONLY because they dress them in gently, previously used, clothes. Others make extra cash selling the clothes at yard sales or 2nd hand stores.
This just sounds ridiculous to me many people can not afford to buy their kids brand new wardrobes.
But I also heard that thursday or friday they (CPSC) are to announce that this law will not affect resale….but doesn’t that just contradict the new law (or what ever it is)?
The new law effects any item for use by children 12 or under. It does include used clothing. However the law as it is now is unclear. It may or may not effect stores run through non profit organizations like Goodwill or the Salvation army. It will effect even large stores selling new merchandise. I believe the law goes into effect February 17th but am unsure.
