How do I tell my cousin I no longer want to spend Thanksgiving with his family?
How do i tell him in a nice way? Let me start by saying I have been forced for the past 10 yrs to go to his house in Arkansas every thanksgviing and spend it with his wifes family, his step daughter, her husband, their kids, who he calls his own grandhildren. He has no kids, 20 of his wifes relatives.
Im Italian-American from NYC, his wifes family are all redneck types. I tried to get along with them, they make fun of my clothes because im into fashion, they tell me they feel bad for me because i live in NYC and its ashame, and also its sad that at age 23 im not married and have no boyfriend.
I watch my cousin with these people and its pathetic, hes 55, no kids and he hands all his money to his wifes family. Its like he changed to fit in with them, he also gets so drunk, he passes out every thanksgiving, he always forces bottles of vodka on me. I always refuse.
How do I tell him nicely I wont be coming anymore? He invited me again. I dont want to go.
