Busy Mums and Clothing Ideas
Quite often busy mums are so pre-occupied with the family and the never-ending list of chores they find little time for themselves and fashion can fall to the bottom of the to do list. Memories of the days when you could hit your snooze button, take a long shower and pick out just the right outfit that showed you took time to check yourself in the mirror before heading out the door, often comes to one’s head. It’s important to take some ‘me time’ and to treat yourself to something special every now and then, you want to look sexy and feel comfortable and all this in 30 seconds!
If you really do not have the time to take out of your busy day to go shopping for yourself why not buy online. There are many fashion e-taillers and websites to choose from, some where you can buy designer togs straight off the peg to design your own fashion online! So as soon as you get a spare moment like the kids are at school, asleep or playing contently take some time to browse fashion websites and see what’s on offer. People have been buying fashion online for years now and there are fantastic discounts, a variety of choice and fantastic returns policies so you really don’t have to drag yourself to the local high street.
If you really can’t afford to go designer than remember that the UK has the best mid-market fashion in the world, the high-street is awash with fantastic prices, so you really don’t need to pull out your credit card. We are lucky to live in an era of fast fashion so within a blink of the eye the trends from the catwalk are quickly made into accessible, easy to wear fashion for everyone.
When you are time poor the best advise is to buy solid colour garments that are easy to co-ordinate and will go with the rest of the wardrobe. So avoid intricate patterns that only work with one pair of shoes and stick to a tried and tested palette that suits your natural skin colour. Once you have established the tones that work well for you, proceed to buy dresses, tops and skirts in this palette. Another tip is to avoid clothes that are dry clean only, a nightmare for busy mums who need the option to wash and run. So if you are always on the move then cotton dresses are fantastic in summer for picnics and wandering around markets on sweltering saturdays as the fabric absorbs sweat, making you feel cooler, relative to other fabrics.
Dresses are fantastic for busy mums as you can just throw them with a 70 denier tight (in winter) and it’s out the door, separates can be more time consuming when you’re trying to figure out what works together.
So, being busy moms it'll not be easy to get back to the days of crawling out of bed, enjoying a cup of coffee, reading the paper, then heading out the door looking like a we had time to try our best. But with the help of above tips for clothing, at least we can have our children look at us like we're the well dressed mom in the carpool pickup line! Who knows, maybe they'll even want us sticking around to go shopping with them, too.
