Why do people keep having more kids when they cannot support the one(s) they have already?
My cousin just called asking us for money. They just had a baby boy 3 days ago, and need money for diapers and milk while they wait to get their WIC. Of course, I will send them maybe $500, but this is IT. They already have 3 they cannot care for. I just don't get it. Everyone in my family sends them hand-me-down clothing and shoes. They barely keep utilities on in the home, and my cousin's wife refuses to get a job, so they just stay in a rut. I feel used because I can't let family suffer. How can I turn my back and not feel guilty about it? I'm not a bank, my usband and I have our own business to take care of and our own children. It's not fair they are irresponsible, and think we are there to pick up their slack. Ugh.
Yeah, it's more than for milk and diapers. They also need money to keep the lights on this month, and food for their other children to eat. That's why we decided to send $500 to them. We are NOT rich by any means, and we will not be so generous to them ever again.
As long as people keep allowing them to do this, they will take the free ride. You should not feel guilty for not giving them the money that you worked hard for. Your cousin's children are your cousin's responsibility, and his wife's responsibility. Nobody else's.
